Position Overview
The Legal Support Specialist will support attorneys and legal teams in the execution of legal matters by providing project coordination document management and administrative support. This role requires sound judgment exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a deadline-driven high-volume environment. The position interacts regularly with attorneys paralegals and administrative professionals across multiple practice groups including corporate intellectual property litigation real estate and tax.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with coordinating workflows timelines and deliverables for active legal matters across multiple practice areas
Track matter status deadlines and key milestones; escalate issues as appropriate
Prepare status reports summaries and internal communications
Draft format proofread and finalize legal documents correspondence and presentations in accordance with firm standards
Maintain and organize electronic and hard-copy matter files in the firms document management system
Support attorneys with document review legal research and due diligence tasks as needed
Liaise with attorneys paralegals and business services professionals across practice groups
Manage data entry and updates in firm systems including matter management and document management platforms
Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience
Two to four years of experience in a large law firm or professional services environment
Demonstrated ability to support multiple attorneys and matters simultaneously
Exceptional organizational time-management and prioritization skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint)
Paralegal certificate or formal legal assistant training preferred
Prior experience at large law firms preferred
Familiarity with document management systems (for example NetDocuments or iManage) preferred
Exposure to multiple practice areas including corporate intellectual property litigation real estate and tax preferred
Experience using project management or matter-tracking tools preferred
Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for the position in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.
California Pay range for this role with final offer amount dependent on skillset and experience is $65k - $70k.
