Job Description Summary
The Lead Material Management Specialist is a key role within the Parts & Material Management organization responsible for driving material execution for complex Upgrades projects across GE factories and service shops.
The role provides end-to-end material leadership from Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) through Order-to-Receipt (OTR) ensuring that internal factories deliver according to project schedules technical requirements and customer commitments.
This position requires strong project-management skills coordination across multiple stakeholders and the ability to drive execution within factory operations.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead material execution for complex upgrade projects coordinating with engineering PMO sourcing fulfillment and factory teams to secure parts and assemblies according to project milestones.
- Collaborate with the teams owning make-or-buy decisions and sourcing strategy and supply management ensuring coordinated follow-up during ITO and OTR and alignment with cost lead time and factory capacity constraints.
- Ensure material readiness plans are in place and actively monitored providing full visibility to the PMO on long-lead items critical-path components and engineered to-order parts and driving timely follow-up to support project commitments.
- Drive factory execution by leading weekly operational reviews identifying priority conflicts escalating risks and ensuring timely resolution of constraints.
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering PMO fulfillment sourcing logistics and finance to ensure seamless material coordination and early identification of risks or gaps.
- Support issue escalation and resolution by coordinating internal stakeholders driving corrective actions and maintaining clear communication with project teams and customers.
- Own material-related KPIs performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives ensuring process discipline and data-driven decision making across ITO and OTR.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3-5 years of supply chain material management or project execution in a heavy industry preferably within power generation or engineering-to-order environments.
- Experience managing complex projects involving multi-site coordination and engineered/upgrade scope.
- Advanced experience in Services & Materials Management.

- Strong project-management skills with proven ability to manage critical-path items and cross-functional deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to drive execution within factories and influence teams without direct authority.
- Effective stakeholder and multi-stakeholder management across global functions (engineering factory operations PMO sourcing).
