Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures the safety of everycamperthrough education vigilant preventative guarding first aid emergency medical services and rescue services
- Provides consistentwaterfrontcoverage and smooth transitions between shifts through planningpunctualityand personal accountability
- Enforces the rules and regulations of thewaterfrontconsistently
- Maintains good working relationships withcampstaff memberswaterfrontpersonnel administrative personnel andcampers.
- Resolvesmemberconcerns in a professional manner or escalates them as appropriate
- Createswaterfrontrelated documentation ( checklists bathertrackingand incident reports)
- Able and willing to follow directions from supervisors and follow protocols
- Maintains a safe and neatwaterfrontarea;assistinbeachmaintenance by performing scheduled checkscleaningand maintenance
- Be familiarwith andfollow thecampschedule including correctly configuringlane linesaccording to the schedule.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and in-services
- Support JCC goals andobjectives
- Learn all aspects of thewaterfrontand its daily operations. For exampleswimlessonsopenfreeswim etc.
- Participate in weekly skill checks
- Serve as astaffmember ofboth Camp Grossman andtheagency JCCAquaticsdepartmentStaffwith responsibilities which at times extend beyond the limits of his/her specialized functions
Standard staff expectations include and are not limited to:
- Actively create a welcoming dynamic that contributes to an environment whereeach individualis valued and respected

- Attend JCC meetings and activelyparticipatein and support the JCC/the departments goals and initiatives

JOB DETAILS: We are an outdoor camp located on beautiful wooded property in Dover MA. The regular camp day runs from 8:30 - 4:00 Monday - Friday for the camp addition Waterfront Staff are expected to attend 4 staff meetings on Monday afternoons at Camp and/or evenings at JCC Greater Boston. Waterfront Staff also work a Sunday Family Day on Sunday July 26. Offering great perks including JCC Health & Fitness center access a supportive vibrant in-person work environment and a competitive starting pay rate range of $20-$25 per hour. This is a limited part-time (2-25 hours per week) role. The pay rate offered will ultimately be determined by relevant qualifications experience and JCCs internal equity.

RequirementsEducation and Experience:
- Current/valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certificationwith Waterfrontwith CPRAEDand First Aid.
- Must be 16 years of age or older attimeof hire.
Skills and Abilities:
- Able to see hear and cognitively recognize situations requiring lifeguarding services
- Capable of working ina high temperatureand high humidity environment for extended periods while wearing required personal protective equipment
- Able to make safety related decisions and perform CPR and/or first aid asrequired
- Read writeunderstandand speak English
- Must be able to use a computer
Physical Requirements:Mustmaintainan appropriate levelof fitnessin order tocompetently perform alljob relatedtasks including the ability to swim distances and dive to pool depths asdeterminedby testing/certification authorities and to lift 150 pounds or heavier weights withassistanceand/or the use of proper equipment.
