The Logistics & Planning Specialist for Roche Diagnostics is responsible for working with the Roche Support Network (RSN) service teams on location and strategy for forward stocking locations and trunk stock inventory and collaborating with global teams regarding Distribution Center inventory assortment.

The Opportunity:
You will be a part of the RSN Parts Management Team and will be responsible for spare parts inventory management and distribution. This is an exciting time to join this dynamic organization amidst organizational growth and the implementation of a spare parts planning software solution designed to contribute to our goals of creating a world-class service supply chain.

As the Logistics & Planning Specialist you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and maintain a rolling demand and supply plan for service parts; collaborate with Global Customer Support (GCS) buyer-planner teams on the requirements for the US affiliate.

  • Identify opportunities and coordinate parts movements across the distribution network collaborating between the supply chain and service teams.

  • Manage service parts inventory and optimize target levels through setting and maintaining planning parameters.

  • Develop and implement replenishment strategies that ensure timely supply at optimal inventory and transportation cost.

  • Identify potential backordered items and take early corrective action to mitigate supply interruptions.

  • Collaborate with Field Support Teams and Analysts/Materials Planners to define customer and channel partners segmentation/prioritization that will translate to inventory levels and locations.

  • Identify inventory optimization opportunities through data install base analysis failure rates and usage.

  • Lead spare parts planning and proactive parts distribution related to new product introduction as well as phase-in / phase-out spare parts planning for end-of-life product lines.

  • Partner with service teams to identify areas of success and consult on areas of opportunity related to team processes and spare parts management

  • Attend Area and/or Regional service team meetings as necessary to foster a deep understanding of front-line stakeholder experience and provide relevant operations updates

  • Identify technician and team spare parts best practices and disseminate best practices across the field support organization.

  • Develop and maintain relationships and alignment with key stakeholders to include field leadership teams & senior field leadership.

  • Provide updates and deliver presentations related to spare parts planning and inventory statuses to field teams.

  • Participation and contribution to the design and implementation of the RSN Spare Parts strategy.

  • Develop implement and manage standardized request processes for deviations from the supply plan requested by field stakeholders.

  • Analyze and make recommendations for changes in customer service target levels

  • Serve as a proxy for Lead representing the Parts Management team across the organization as needed.

  • Lead spare parts projects as needed; some examples could be Inventory Optimization Network Design & Inventory Rebalancing among other project initiatives.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field; or 4 years of experience in a related field

  • 5 years of experience in logistics marketing production inventory control or purchasing functions with an international focus

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with spare parts planning and execution as well as planning software

  • 3 years of experience working in SAP

  • Ability to collaborate and drive the optimization of parts inventory levels in a global business environment.

  • Project management experience with tangible examples of implementing complex project initiatives

  • APICS Certification (CPIM and/or CSCP preferred)

  • Subject matter expertise in supply chain planning processes and methodologies

  • Experience with transportation modes utilized for spare parts distribution (small parcel courier expedites NFO etc.)

  • Degree in supply chain or business

  • Operating in a globally collaborative and distributed environment

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (i.e. Excel Google Sheets)

  • Familiarity with data visualization and workflow tools (i.e. Tableau Alteryx)

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $78600.00 - $146000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience qualifications geographic location and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
