Position: Credentialing Specialist Location: Brooklyn Bronx Queens Manhattan NYC

Compensation: $30-$33/hr Position Summary:
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for all aspects of provider credentialing and re-credentialing to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations accreditation standards and organizational policies. This role supports the qualification and ongoing eligibility of healthcare providers through accurate verification documentation and database management.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor s Degree (required)
-
Prior experience as a Credentialing Specialist within the healthcare industry (required)

Demonstrated experience credentialing healthcare providers
-
Strong understanding of healthcare credentialing standards and regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities:
-
Manage all aspects of provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes to ensure providers are qualified and compliant.

Conduct primary source verification for new and existing providers to ensure accuracy compliance and due diligence.

Monitor and manage physician license renewals ensuring licenses are renewed prior to expiration.
-
Maintain complete and accurate provider credentialing files updating records as items and actions are processed.
-
Utilize credentialing databases status alerts reporting tools and scanned documentation systems effectively.

Ensure all credentialing information is current accurate and consistently maintained within the database.

Maintain credentialing standards by ensuring consistency in data entry and adherence to established processes.

Provide credentialing back-up coverage for other members of the credentialing team as needed.
