Job Summary
Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute English Language Arts Teacher for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year. Major Responsibilities:
- Implement English/Language Arts lessons and Project-Based Learning activities from curriculum specifically designed to coincide with the Massachusetts State Frameworks and Common Core State Standards.
- Manage classroom affairs adjust to various audiences and learning preferences and promote a growth mindset.
- Apply relevant technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Attend staff team and IEP meetings and contribute to committees as required.
- Function as a member and work collaboratively with Minuteman educators and staff in order to integrate challenging technical concepts into a dynamic curriculum.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of curriculum and lessons that integrate ELA concepts with Career and Technical (CTE) disciplines.
- Assist the administration in implementing District goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the District.
- Maintain a professional demeanor.
- Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the building Principal or their designee.
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in English Grades 9-12 preferred.
- Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- This position includes but is not limited to: walking around the school observing students while they work in their program areas standing for periods occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds reading documents using a computer listening and speaking using office equipment maintaining energy throughout the day and handling stress effectively.
