WHO ARE WE

The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation (BCF) is one of Sydneys most trusted frontline charities and has been supporting the community for nearly 40 years. Our mission is to address homelessness and hardship by providing essential services including food social welfare healthcare education and community programs.

Within BCF our Social Health and Wellbeing (SHW) team provides compassionate high-quality medical dental and allied healthcare across our clinics. We support individuals facing complex and multiple challenges ensuring they receive dignified trauma-informed care tailored to their unique needs.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dentist to join our SHW team at the BCF Blacktown Medical Clinic commencing 5 January 2026.

This is a unique opportunity for a dental professional who is passionate about community health and committed to improving outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness financial hardship and other barriers to care.

The position offers casual part-time or full-time hours with flexibility to discuss a schedule that suits both you and the service. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team where your contribution meaningfully impacts the health and wellbeing of our clients.

WHAT YOULL DO

As our Dentist you will:

  • Deliver high-quality dental care including examinations restorations extractions and preventative treatments.
  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments including radiographs and oral health screenings.
  • Develop personalised treatment plans and educate clients on oral hygiene and preventative care.
  • Perform minor oral surgical procedures and administer local anaesthesia where required.
  • Fit adjust and manage dentures and other prosthetic appliances.
  • Collaborate with caseworkers clinicians and external providers to ensure integrated person-centred care.
  • Supervise guide and support allied dental staff including hygienists oral health therapists and dental prosthetists.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records and contribute to service improvements.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

You are a compassionate patient and clinically skilled professional who is comfortable working with individuals who may present with complex needs trauma histories or barriers to accessing mainstream dental care.

Youll also bring:

  • A Bachelor of Dentistry (or equivalent) recognised by AHPRA.
  • Current AHPRA registration and eligibility to practise in Australia.
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience as a Dentist in general practice or community settings.
  • Strong diagnostic skills across a broad range of oral health presentations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a trauma-informed culturally responsive approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a busy multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience providing care to vulnerable populations (highly regarded but not essential).
