Job Description
Assistinmaintainingpatient safety and providing patient education.
Duties to include rooming patients taking vitals and health historydocumenting inan electronic medical record.Duties do not include the ordering and administration of medications.
Measure vital signs (temp pulse resp BP pain oxygen sat).
Measure height and weight.
Measure head chest and abdominal circumferences asappropriate topatient population.
Assistpatient with nutritional hygiene eliminationambulationand comfort related needs.
Prepare patients forexamand minor office procedures.
Perform clerical duties and ensure overall financial well-being of the clinic operations.
Schedule tests and procedures. Utilizes correct communication tools and devices in providing care.
The care team member must efficientlyestablisha caring trusting relationship with the caller and elicit information related to the reason for the call and current symptoms.
Usesmedical equipment safely and effectivelyin accordance withmanufacturers instructions policy and/or clinic guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.
Demonstrates excellent customer service by incorporating AIDET MUSC Excellence and Service Recovery

Minimum Training and Education:
Requirements include one of the following:
High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of one year of patient care work experience in a health care facility at the time ofhire.
Certified Nursing Assistant.
High school diploma or GEDandenrollment in a healthcare related program within two years of hire.
High school diploma or GEDand a current MUHA or MUSCP Care Team Member.
Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant course at an accredited institution or equivalent training.
EMT or Paramedic certification.
Nursingstudentenrolled in an accredited institution with the completion of nursing fundamentals course.
Bachelors degree.
Required Licensure Certifications Registrations:Basic Life Supportwithin 2 weeks of hire.Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is.
Physical Requirements:Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standingwalkingand sitting. Ability to bend at the waist kneel climb stairs reach in all directions fully use both hands and legspossessgood finger dexterity perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use initially and as. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected see and recognize objectsclose at handand at a distance work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift lower push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50lbs(/-) unassisted exert up to 50lbsof force lift from 36 to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
