What are we looking for
TheMicrobiologistis responsible for preparing conducting and interpreting microbiological testing evaluations on a wide variety of commercial products with Intertek procedures U.S. Canadian and other international test standards. The candidate will work closely with their department manager.
Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday
Salary & Benefits Information
The base wage or salary range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set experience qualifications and other job-related reasons.

What youll do:
Laboratory and testing
Conduct contamination assessment by preparing and plating samples for Total Plate Count Yeast and Mold E. Coli Salmonella etc
Conduct Probiotic Assays using appropriate agar and preparations conditions
Perform allergen assessments by ELISA to ensure safety
Perform GMO analysis using PCR
Conduct challenge studies to assess anti-microbial properties of material
Lab maintenance and management
Prepare and sterilize equipment glassware and media to ensure aseptic conditions.
Monitor and manage lab supplies ordering what is needed to ensure continuous operation.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols calibrating instruments and validating test methods.
Data and documentation
Accurately record and document all observations data and results in lab notebooks and electronic systems.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- 4 yr Bachelor degree in a Biological Science preferably in Microbiology
- Experience culturing and cultivating organisms
- Ability to identify problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- 1 year experience performing testing with bacteria mold and fungus preferred
- Experience with current market test standards (ASTM BAM USP or ISO) a plus
