Job Summary:

The Materials Handler is responsible for the receipt of all incoming materials supplies equipment and returned goods. The Materials Handler is also responsible for using the forklift for routing and delivering materials to storage places or various manufacturing locations as well as labeling and inventory items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check goods received to purchase orders or receiving slips maintain records and prepare receiving reports

• Check quantity type size part numbers dimensions etc. to properly identify materials

• Route or deliver materials to storage or manufacturing locations

• Responsible for labeling storing and inventorying items

• Ability to process warranty items such as entering Returned Goods

• Authorizations into database

• Work with Purchasing and Inventory Control to facilitate accurate inventory levels and necessary adjustments

• Cross-train in shipper position responsible for the preparation of domestic and foreign shipments according to shipping requirements and specifications

• Drive forklift and maintain necessary certification

• Operate cranes and hoists

• Safety sensitive position

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least one year shipping / receiving experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred

• Ability to work in heavy metals manufacturing industry

• Basic proficiency in computer operations such as email databases spreadsheets etc.

• Valid Drivers License

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds

• Ability to stand walk and sit up

• Ability to use hand to finger handle and feel

• Ability to climb and balance

• Ability to stoop kneel bend crouch and crawl

• Ability to reach with hands and arms

• Ability to see talk and hear

Preferred Qualifications:

• Sit down forklift experience
