Job Summary
Sensational ESY Camp Counselor

Department: Recreation Reports to: Counselor Coordinator
Summary:
Sensational ESY Camp Counselors provide direct care supervision and support to campers with disabilities in a fun safe and inclusive summer camp environment. Counselors assist with daily activities personal care needs and educational programming while promoting camper engagement safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and personal care support (feeding toileting hygiene dressing etc.)
- Assist campers with activities of daily living and participation in camp programs
- Support academic sessions alongside intervention specialists and therapists
- Maintain a clean safe and organized camp environment
- Follow all camp policies safety procedures and documentation requirements
- Attend required trainings meetings and staff sessions
- Promote positive relationships with campers families and staff
- Monitor camper health and safety at all times
- Training Requirement
- Must attend 8 days of mandatory training prior to working with campers
- Training includes disability awareness behavior management documentation and required certifications (CPR/First Aid/AED CPI)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year experience working with children in a classroom or group setting
- Enthusiastic responsible and professional
- Able to work a flexible schedule and in a team environment
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and assist campers
- Support feeding toileting and personal care needs
- Active participation in camp activities
