The Long-Term substitute will teach small groups of 1st and 2nd grade students as part of student reading support model. Key Responsibilities:: Teach small groups of 1st and 2nd grade students as part of reading support program. Assess and plan targeted instruction using the Fundations Word Study Program to meet individual student needs. Write progress reports for students receiving reading support. Facilitate Parent/Teacher conferences regarding student progress as requested and Literacy Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and coordinate the administration of literacy benchmark assessments using Fountas and Pinnell Benchmarking System for K-2 Instructional Support: Collaborate with faculty administration and school psychologist to consult around students literacy development and for students who potentially need additional reading support. Serve as a core member of the Student Support Team as requested to offer support for implementing reading strategy duties as assigned: Attend faculty meetings professional learning communities and daily supervision duties as :2 years classroom teaching experience or small group reading tutoring experience requiredUndergraduate degree in Elementary Early Childhood Education preferredReading Specialist Certification preferred or trained in Wilson FundationsCandidates for this position should possess these key skills:A professional friendly patient and welcoming presence who likes to work with children and adultsAbility to adapt and learn take direction and positively respond to feedbackStrong interpersonal skills and team orientationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to take initiative with and follow through on tasksUnderstanding of literacy data analysis and use to evaluate student strengths needs and who meet these criteria should apply online by January 9th at: Experience:
