Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION: This individual is accountable for teaching and supervision of students in the Hospitality Chapter 74 Career Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) state frameworks and curriculum RESPONSIBILITIES:Development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and planning developing and integration of the departments curriculum where with the staff of the Hospitality program for the implementation of changes in the curriculum and or new developments in the input in faculty/team performance evaluation of students at the end of each marking period for grading for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race color gender age marital status religion gender identity national origin sexual orientation homelessness or of other job-related duties as : Massachusetts teachers licensure in Hospitality Chapter 74 or the ability to obtain within one year. Current Sanitation Management and Allergen Awareness Certifications. Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to the hospitality of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques. Demonstrated skill and working knowledge of Culinary Fundamentals & Food Service: Kitchen safety sanitation (HACCP) knife skills classical cooking methods menu development inventory and cost control. Demonstrated skill and working knowledge of Hotel & Lodging Operations: Front desk procedures reservations systems property management systems (PMS) housekeeping guest relations and revenue skill and working knowledge of Event Planning & Catering: Logistics budgeting vendor relations sales and execution of small-to-large scale events and catered functions. Understanding of Customer Service & Professionalism: Advanced communication conflict resolution teamwork ethical practices and professional appearance standards required by the of Hospitality Law & Finance: Labor laws liability basic accounting principles and financial performance metrics relevant to hotels and in computer applications such as Microsoft Operating Systems Microsoft applications (Word Excel PowerPoint) and Point-of-Sale operations. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Advanced educational of educational development experience and knowledge of technical competencies with curriculum experience supporting students with disabilities and English Language EVALUATION: The Hospitality Instructor shall be evaluated annually consistent with the evaluation procedure included in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Education Association of Leicester and the STATUS: Education Association of Leicester (EAL)
