Job Summary:
This position is for an Interventional Radiologic Technologist responsible for assisting in interventional radiology and special procedures. The technologist will maintain equipment stock supplies assist with procedures such as angioplasty embolization and stent placement and provide patient care in acute inpatient ED emergent and outpatient routine procedure settings.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with interventional radiology and special procedures.
- Maintain equipment and stock supplies.
- Assist with procedures such as angioplasty chest tube placement embolization gastrostomy tube placement IVC filter placement liver biopsy mesenteric angiogram stent placement thoracentesis catheter/drain exchange cystoscopy gastrostomy internal/external biliary drainage nephrostomy percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram and renal/ureteral stent placement.
- Perform central venous access/port placement and manage ports.
- Provide care and maintenance for central venous and PICC lines.
- Operate fluoroscopy equipment.
- Accurately monitor patients and set up equipment.
- Prepare access sites and function as a room circulator.
- Maintain a sterile field as a scrub technician.
- Adhere to isolation precautions.
- Participate in rapid response/code teams.
- Assist with interventional body procedures: port pleurx gastrostomy tube nephrostomy tube and perm cath placements; embolizations for bleeding fibroids; liver cancer treatment/SIRT chemo embolization.
- Assist with Trauma Level I procedures (splenic liver pelvic bleeds)
- Use Pyxis EPIC and SBAR for medication documentation and communication.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- ARRT R certification.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Experience in Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures.
- Skills in maintaining equipment stocking supplies angioplasty chest tube placement embolization gastrostomy tube placement IVC filter placement liver biopsy mesenteric angiogram stent placement thoracentesis catheter/drain exchange cystoscopy gastrostomy internal/external biliary drainage nephrostomy percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram renal artery stent placement ureteral stent placement central venous access/port placement accessing/managing ports central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines) central venous lines- care and maintenance PICC lines- care and maintenance fluoroscopy accurate monitoring equipment set up prep access site room circulator scrub- maintain sterile field isolation precautions and use of rapid response/code teams.
- Traveler experience required.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ARRT VI certification.
- Experience with PACS and TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt).
- Experience with Computed Tomography GE Innova IGS Siemens and Ultrasound.
- Ability to perform EKG lead placement.
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Experience with Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose StarClose).
Special Considerations:
- Weekend call will be rotated 1:5 with 4 fulltime RTs and one travel RT. This comes out to two 24- hour call shifts in a five-week time tract and the sharing of weekend call days.
- Acute inpatient population ED emergent population and outpatient routine procedures; bleeds cancer end of life fibroids vascular disease urological comorbidities failure to thrive.
Scheduling:
- Monday-Friday 0700-1700.
- Weekend call required approximately 3-4 weekends per contract.
- Department hours are Monday-Friday 0700-1700 with call coverage after hours.
