Job Title: High School Math Tutor/InterventionistPosition Overview:The High School Math Tutor/Interventionist provides individualized and small-group instructional support to students who need additional help mastering foundational math skills. The tutor works closely with classroom teachers counselors and school administrators to identify learning gaps reinforce key concepts and build students confidence and competence in math. The goal of this position is to help students meet grade-level expectations and succeed in their core math Responsibilities:Provide targeted tutoring in foundational and grade-level math concepts including pre-algebra algebra geometry and essential numeracy student strengths and areas for improvement using teacher input diagnostic tools and informal and implement personalized learning plans that address specific skill a variety of instructional strategiesdirect instruction guided practice manipulatives visual models and real-world applicationsto support diverse learning student progress through regular check-ins formative assessments and progress monitoring effectively with teachers and support staff to align tutoring goals with classroom feedback to students and parents regarding progress challenges and recommended next a positive encouraging and supportive learning accurate records of tutoring sessions attendance and student in training professional development and school meetings as :High school diploma required; associates or bachelors degree in education mathematics or a related field working with high school students or tutoring in understanding of foundational math Algebra I and Geometry to explain mathematical ideas clearly patiently and in multiple communication organization and interpersonal to helping students build confidence and achieve academic Skills:Experience with intervention curriculum or math remediation with diagnostic math to work effectively with diverse learners including English language learners and students with Environment & Schedule:Tutoring may occur during school hours after school or as part of an intervention block.
