Job Summary
Woburn Public Schools
Psychologist LTS
April 1 2026 to the end of the school year.
Long Term Substitutes receive a daily rate of $125.00 for the first 20 days of work. Starting on the 21st day they are compensated at the daily rate for either a Bachelors ($344.82) or Masters ($370.56) level based on their qualifications for the remainder of their assignment.
The WPS Psychologist will report to the Director of Special Education and Building Principal(s) and assist in the goal of helping students in our district fully develop their unique intellectual social and emotional capabilities.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Administer and interpret formal and informal cognitive and other relevant evaluations required to determine eligibility for special services as well as for ongoing reevaluations.
- Review student records for the screening and evaluation process of students including Kindergarten screening.
- Provide written reports of assessment for student evaluations.
- Collaborate with building and support staff throughout the district as well as parents and outside agencies to meet the needs of students.
- Participate as a member of the IEP team as well as other relevant school-based teams including crisis support IST (Instructional Support Team- RTI/MTSS etc.)
- Write IEP goals and objectives as well as monitor and report on progress.
- Provide group and individual lessons on social skills development as well as individual counseling sessions based on student needs and IEP goals/objectives.
- Involvement and consultation around behavioral interventions and plans inconjunction with district BCBA/ behavioral staff as appropriate.
- Participate in ongoing PD including maintaining knowledge of new intervention strategies and new assessments in the areas of instructional strategies behavior management behavioral intervention plans and emotional disabilities.
- Conduct home visits as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Administration.
Qualifications and Skill Set:
- Masters Degree from an approved program in school psychology.
- Appropriate DESE MA state certification as a School Psychologist.
- Experience in a culturally diverse public school setting
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of child development
