Job Summary

Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for a Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. The successful candidate will serve as the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidate must be certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

The next Division Chief will lead one of the largest and most successful pediatric orthopaedic programs in the nation and will be expected to participate in patient care teaching and scholarship. The Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics is comprised of over 36 faculty and attending physicians with diverse clinical educational and investigative interests.

Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students orthopaedic surgery residents and pediatric orthopaedic surgery fellows and APPs. The Division has responsibilities for training large numbers of medical students residents and fellows. Educating the next generation of pediatric orthopaedic leaders is a priority of the Division.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient or outpatient services at CHOPs Main campus King of Prussia campus and other sites. The Division leads multiple robust outpatient clinical programs including 11 programs providing care in over 77000 patient outpatient encounters per year.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include pursuit of clinical and/or basic science research related to orthopaedic surgery.
