This role offers the opportunity to provide bothshort-term in-the-moment supportandlonger-term counselingfor students seeking ongoing care.
Role Overview
We are looking for adynamic clinicianwho genuinely connects with college-aged students and understands the intensity and complexity of campus life. The ideal candidate brings empathy cultural sensitivity and a relatable presence that makes students feel comfortable seeking help. You will serve as a trusted resourcesomeone students can turn to for immediate support during challenging moments as well as someone who can provide steady longer-term therapeutic guidance when needed.
This is a contract position for spring semester with flexible scheduling and possibility for extension. Sessions will take place on-site at the Northeastern Hillel building in a comfortable and confidential counseling space.
What Youll Do
- Provideshort-term and on-going individual counselingto Jewish students seeking emotional academic relational or identity-related support.
- Offer timely responsive in-the-moment availability for students experiencing acute stress or personal challenges.
- Create treatment plans and maintain documentation in accordance with professional standards and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with Hillels professional staff to ensure holistic student-centered support (while maintaining clinical confidentiality).
- Refer students to specialized or intensive services when appropriate ensuring smooth continuity of care.
- This is an in-person position on site at the Hillel House.
Qualifications
- Masters or doctoral degree in Social Work Counseling or Psychology (LCSW LICSW LMHC PhD PsyD or equivalent).
- Experience working with young adults or college students is strongly preferred.
- A relatable engaging interpersonal style that resonates with students.
- Familiarity with Jewish culture and an appreciation for the diversity within the Jewish student community.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with Hillel staff.
- Licensed in the state of Massachusetts.
Schedule & Compensation
- Contract role 15-20 hours/week to start; flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.
- Projected start date: January 5 2025
- $100$250/hour depending on experience licensure and credentials.
- Opportunities to expand hours during peak periods or based on student demand.
