General Information:
James Madison Universitys Facilities Management is currently seeking an Electrician Senior Lead. This position will perform technically difficult and routine installation repair maintenance and service of electrical equipment in University-owned buildings and other areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
Diagnose problems repair and maintain a wide variety of electrical equipment including food service laboratory and card access systems.
Install new equipment including complete electrical circuits to the equipment.
Responsible for final inspection and proper operation of all new installations.
Assist the supervisor and act as back-up to the supervisor when the supervisor is away from the shop for any period of time.
Communicates important information regularly and consistently with those they lead.
Plan workloads based on priorities.
Coordinate with other shops and departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide accurate and timely reports as needed order equipment and parts to maintain the supplies to be able to respond to normal and emergency tasks.
Coordinate with contractors and engineering staff in the accomplishment of various electrical projects.
Provide leadership in ensuring that the universitys electrical systems are maintained in a manner that promotes the best work/study environment for students faculty and staff.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Extensive knowledge of electrical equipment and systems practices and code compliance.
High degree of advanced electrician skills including the use of hand tools power tools conduit benders meters testers recording devices and circuit tracers.
Ability to read and work from blueprints
Ability to diagnose service and repair all types of electrical equipment.
Strong leadership skills
Drivers License
MASTELEC- Master Electrician Certification
