The Wolcott Board of Education is accepting applications for the following position:

Tyrrell Middle School seeks to hire a School Social Worker to support students in grades 68 who present social emotional behavioral and family-related challenges. This role will provide targeted tiered support for students and families while also launching a hybrid middle school program modeled after the high school SHAPE program (Self Help and Personal Exploration).

Start Date: January 2026

Rate: Per Union Contract

Role Overview:

The School Social Worker will work collaboratively with administrators counselors teachers special education staff and families to improve student engagement behavior attendance and overall well-being. The position will balance individual and family-based interventions with small-group peer-based programming aligned with the developmental needs of middle school students.
