Engineering Technician x2 Structures Construction
About the Ōtaki to North Levin Project:
The Ōtaki to North Levin project focuses on upgrading the transport link along State Highway 1 (SH1) between Ōtaki and North Levin to improve road safety reduce congestion enhance travel efficiency and support regional economic growth.
In partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi Muaūpoko Tribal Authority local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga and the Horowhenua District Council this project will be executed through a two-alliance approach. Each alliance will be responsible for delivering a section of the road and associated works ensuring a collaborative and comprehensive delivery.
This exciting new four-lane 24.8km highway project will dramatically improve safety and resilience providing better access to walking and cycling facilities for those moving around or through the Horowhenua and Kāpiti districts. The project includes multiple large complex bridge structures plus a full interchange at Taraua Road a half interchange north at Taylors Road two roundabouts and approximately 4m m3 of complex earthworks significant drainage infrastructure and a structural asphalt concrete pavement.
This role supports the South Alliance delivered by partners Beca Downer McConnell Dowell and Tonkin & Taylor and may be employed by either Downer or McConnell Dowell as part of our alliance delivery model.

What we are looking for
- You will hold NZQA Level 3 qualifications in Maths and English subjects at minimum demonstrating youre ready to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communicators with a collaborative mindset.
- Must hold at least a Restricted Drivers licence.
- Organised motivated and eager to learn.
- People who want to make a difference and grow their careers in a supportive environment.
- Applicants should be located within the Horowhenua or Kapiti regions
