Job Summary

NS2 Mission is seeking a Software Engineerthat operates global infrastructure and software platforms that power high-impact mission outcomes. Were looking for a Software Engineer in Reston VA with strong full-stack and cloud engineering skills who wants to design build and operate modern applications at scale.

Youll work across the full software development lifecyclefrom architecture and design to deployment and operationsbuilding secure cloud-native systems that matter. If you enjoy solving complex problems working with modern frameworks and owning your work end-to-end this role is for you.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience designing and developing cloud-based applications using modern architectural best practices
Experience with full-stack or backend software development and application deployment
Proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented language (e.g. Java Go C#)
Experience building front-end applications using modern frameworks (React Angular or Vue)
Experience developing in a Linux environment (Ubuntu CentOS Rocky etc.)
Hands-on experience with at least one commercial cloud platform (AWS Azure or GCP)
Experience building or operating containerized applications using Kubernetes
Familiarity with infrastructure orchestration tools such as Terraform Ansible or Helm
Understanding of networking concepts and VPN technologies (OpenVPN WireGuard IPSec)
Experience managing user access permissions and system security best practices
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software and system issues across environments
Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
Associates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong development experience in Java or Go
Proficiency with JavaScript and modern UI development
Deep experience with React Angular or Vue
Advanced cloud experience with services such as EC2 S3 EKS EFS Route 53 and Load Balancers (or equivalents)
Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD preferred)
Experience with system administration and platform operations
Familiarity with VMware or similar virtualization technologies
Experience scripting and automating tasks using Bash Python or PowerShell
Industry certifications in Linux Cloud or Systems Administration
Experience supporting production environments and responding to operational requests (e.g. Jira help desk)

Position Clearance Requirement:

TS/SCI with an FSP
