Conversion Crew | Part-Time | South Okanagan Events Centre

TheConversion Creware the nuts and bolts of our operations team making sure our events can go off without a hitch. The Conversion Crew is the team that makes sure all equipment is setup in the venue and that all safety precautions are put in place during the setup so our guests are safe in their seats while they enjoy their performance. This position requires a multitude of physical tasks associated with converting the facility from a hockey setting to concert or other scheduled event settings and back. This is a Part-Time position with most shifts occurring overnight. The amount of shifts available is determined by the activity/volume of events being held at the venue.

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.85-$18.00 CAD

EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.

• Lay down and pick up event floor
• Remove and reinstall acrylic glass and dasher boards for event setups as needed
• Set up and breakdown of chairs tables basketball floor staging and risers concourse dressing rooms etc.
• Requires significant physical effort including walking and heavy lifting. (Up to 50lbs)
• Utilization of tools and other equipment
• Occasional outdoor work is required
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• Any labour experience is an asset
• Ability to work flexible hours dictated by events including days evenings overnights weekends and holidays as needed with most shifts beginning in the late evening
• Ability to follow basic instruction and direction
• Ability to perform general labour; heavy lifting is required (5080 lbs)
• Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member
• Safety footwear and other PPE is required
• Fork lift and/or Scissor Lift certification an asset but not required.
