Overview
The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) provides support to the Director andManagers within the division as well as across patient care coordinate and influence nursing practice excellence in the patient care APN acts as a resource person for patient careteam membersand works cooperatively within the hospital community to coordinate nursing policyand education of staffmaintainstandards of care and performance improvement consistent withand under the direction ofthe established strategic plan goals andobjectivesfor Patient Care Services.

Responsibilities
Leadership
- Demonstrates clinical leadership as a role model forteam members.
- Consults nursing managementregardingissues or barriers in delivery of care staff achievement of competency system concerns providerconcernsor specific patient carebarriers.
- Participates in divisional and hospital shared governance infrastructure.
- Coordinate and lead hospital-wide patient initiativesas assigned by Director
Clinical Excellence
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and advances in nursing practice.
- Facilitatesdevelopmentimplementation and evaluationofchanges in patient care based on published evidence.
- Assistswith formulation of evidence-based nursing policy and procedure.
- Partners withprovidersand patient care team members to achievepatient careoutcomes.
Education
- Serves as a resource topatient care team membersbased on professional standards of care.
- Provides support and resources to the division for on-boarding of newpatient care team members.
- Supports competency development and implementation within the divisionforpatient care team members.
Quality Improvement
- Identifiespertinent research EBP and/or PIquestions arising from clinical practice.
- Assistswith formulation of evidence-based nursing policy and procedure.
- Reports research EBP and/or PIfindings toappropriate stakeholders.
- Supports performance improvement initiatives within the division.
- Mentors staff onimprovementprocess and implementation principles.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in nursing BSN with masters in health administration or business
- Current BLS Certification
- Three years of clinical experience
- Microsoft Office - basic computer skills
