Duties
Responsible for performance of Electrical Testing and Maintenance activities as assignedby the Electrical Foreman includinginspections testing repairs reworkmodificationsandhousekeepingofallElectrical equipment and components;and :
Performingtesting and maintenance activities on Electrical equipment and components includingtroubleshooting and data evaluation and the disassemblyreworkrepairassembly alignmentinspectionandtesting
requiredtoensure thecontinued andreliable operation ofallElectricalequipmentandcomponents;
Recording andlogging theresultsofperforming Electrical Maintenance and testingactivities onallElectrical equipment such asasfoundand as left equipment and component conditions corrective actions and settings inaddition to parts test equipment labor and other resources such as materials used inthe performance ofassignedmaintenanceandtestingactivities; Verifyingthatadequate andrequired precautions havebeentaken prior to initiatingamaintenanceor testingactivity such precautions would include tagged electrical and mechanical devicesestablishmentofradiationbarriersandcleanlinessareasandothercheckstoensure that maintenance and testing is being initiatedin accordance with administrative and technical procedure requirements andpromul-gatesafetycriteria; Providingon-the-jobtraining intheproperuseoftoolstestequip-mentand procedures to ensure compliance with plant-specific and industry accepted standards of performance to Electrical Apprentice and Journeymen who are not qualifiedonthe maintenanceor testingactivitiesbeingperformed; ProvidingElectricalsupport toother departments andsupport servicesasrequested; Interpretingworkordersdrawingssketchesblueprintsdataetc. Reporting abnormal conditionsobservedor encountered suchas abnormaloperating conditionssafetyconditionsandviolationsofsecurityprocedures; Assistingin thedevelopmentcorrection and validation ofstationproceduresandtests; Performing work independentlyinthose areas of higherclassificationwhen qualifiedin accordance withElectrical MaintenanceQualification; Providing directassistancetotheOperations Department orother responsible groups asrequired under emergencyconditions; Performingsimilarorlessskilleddutiesasassigned;and Workingwith employees inhigherclassificationsandperformotherdutiesinaccordancewiththeSectionoftheForewordtotheJobManualentitledDuties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must meet the Companys requirements as to General Qualificationsin accordancewiththeSectionof theForewordof theJob Manual entitledGeneral Qualificationsandinaddition:
Must havesatisfactorilycompletedanElectrical ApprenticeProgramortheequivalent; Musthaveathoroughworkingknowledgeof: Applied electricity and electronics including D.C. electrical circuitsmachinerymeasurementsandcalculations; Thelayoutconstructionfunctionsandoperationoftheelectricalequipment andcircuit connections oftheStation; Theelectrical maintenance repairand construction proceduresandpracticesoftheStation; Saferigging and scaffoldingpractices and theuseand careoftacklehoistsandladdersrequiredin Qualifications(Continued) The rulessafetypracticesandprocedures for clearing and tagging outelectrical apparatusforthe protectionofpersonnelandequipment;and Thepractices principles ofoperationand properapplication of equipmentasprescribedbytheCompanyforsafetyFirstAidandfireprevention; Mustachievewithinfour(4)yearsofentryintoElectricalMaintenanceandmaintainqualificationsinthefollowing areas: Indoctrinationorequivalent; Cablesconduitandterminationsorequivalent; MotorsandGeneratorsorequivalent; MotorControllersorequivalent; TransformersandBussesorequivalent; Batteriesorequivalent; Circuitbreakersorequivalent; CircuitBoardrepairorequivalent. Mustbeableto: Workfromdrawingscircuitdiagramsandspecifications; Diagnosetroubleandtakepropercorrectivesteps;and FollowtheproceduresasprescribedbytheCompany orderivedtherefromforthesafeoperationoftheStation; Must becertifiedtooperateequipment suchasfork liftsandcranesrequiredinthework;6Must satisfactorilyprogress inand complete the prescribed training courses requiredby the Company or any regulatoryagencies;
Must have theability toreceiveinterpretand pass onordersandinstructionsinamannerthatwillmaintainharmonyandsafety and obtain cooperation and satisfactory work resultsfrommenassignedtothework;and Mustpossess: Ability tobeflexibleaccountableandresponsible;bGoodmanualdexterity; Normalcolorperception; Normalorcorrectedvision;and Acooperativetemperament beable toobtainandmaintainharmonyandcooperationwithfellowemployeesandotherswhomworkmust becoordinatedwithandeffectivelyworkunderpressure.Job Family
