Reporting to theNitrinkè-in Shi HǫzǫTrëtäàl(Nutrition Program Coordinator) this position will be responsible to provide cooking services for theBreakfastand Lunch program at Robert Service School as well as community mealsidentifiedbyTrondëkHwëchin. The main responsibilities areassistingthe Nutritional Program Coordinator with weekly menu plans and managing food ordersdrivingand delivering food packaging and lifting small and large/heavy containers of food working with other cooks to share jobs and preparing nutritious meals for the breakfast and lunch program.
An Eligibility List may beestablishedfrom this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time permanent part-time temporary full-time temporary part-time termor auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

EssentialQualifications:
- Cooking courses or equivalent experience.
- Experience incooking traditional foods.
- Food safety courses or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge and understanding of Northern Canada Food Guide.
- Experience preparing nutritious meals for large groups Over 100 servings
- Ability to demonstrate conflict resolution skills and assist in crisis situations in a calm manner.
- Ability to act as a positive role model for community membersdemonstratingthe practice of a healthy lifestyle.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Class 5 drivers license with a clear drivers abstract.
- Standard First Aid / CPR Remote First Aid or willingness to obtain.
- Willingness to get andmaintainmedical clearance annual flushotsand TB testing.
- Must be ableto repeatedlylift containers over 50lbs.
- TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
