The hospitals heart attack treatment times consistently beat the national average and the hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital Stanford. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Medical Lab Technologist you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect identify measure and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.
Every day you will expertly conduct waived and moderate procedures using technical skills instrumentation and information systems providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.
To be successful in this role you will possess comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across various disciplines (microbiology hematology chemistry etc.) understand sample processing and result interpretation prioritize chemical and biological safety and be adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment.
- Utilizes the AIDET principle to communicate with others with a focus on patients and their families. Acknowledge Introduce Explain Duration Thank
- Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary puncture
- Appropriately processes and prepares all specimens received in the Laboratory: Body fluids Pathology specimens Microbiology specimens Blood Urine (random/24 hour)
- Reviews uncollected lists cancels and/or reflexes tests appropriately using the computer system
- Employs proper steps to take action with computer and/or printer problems. Trouble-shoots and identifying issues
- Stock supplies and checks incoming supply orders. Maintains a clean and organized stocking area. Rotates stock
Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Phlebotomist: CA CPT Certification
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
PREFERRED:
- 2 years acute care experience (or similar work setting)
- Drivers License: CA upon hire
- Auto Insurance upon hire
