Background
This post will contribute to the delivery of the Gates Foundation-funded Independent Centre for Evaluating Nonhormonal Contraceptive (iCENC) project within the Centre for Human Reproductive Science. The iCENC aims to establish internationally recognised standards for sperm function assays to support the evaluation of non-hormonal contraceptive compounds as well as providing critical appraisal and training to leading partner sites worldwide. The project involves coordination between academic clinical and industry partners across multiple international sites.
The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective delivery of all aspects of the iCENC programme led by Professor Jackson Kirkman-Brown and Dr Meurig Gallagher supporting the team in meeting scientific and administrative milestones.

Department Overview
The Research Delivery team part of the College of Medicine & Healths Research Office is a vibrant hub for Professional Service staff (100 individuals) supporting high-value strategically important projects and programmes. We work closely with both Professional Services colleagues and Academics across the University and partner organisations particularly NHS colleagues to maximise the impact of funded research much of which has direct patient relevance. The portfolio of research supported is wide ranging ( including a large portfolio of large-scale research programmes and infrastructure awards funded by charities government and other major health research funders.
This role will be embedded within the Research Delivery team and benefit from established relationships with programme partners and key stakeholders including NHS Trusts collaborating research institutions both locally nationally and globally patient and public contributors charities and funders.
Role Summary
The post holder will be responsible for the operational financial and administrative management of the iCENC project ensuring compliance with funder ethical and institutional requirements. Responsibilities include working with the lead investigators to deliver project planning tracking deliverables managing communication with the Gates Foundation and partner institutions coordinating international visits and meetings and supporting the preparation of reports publications and dissemination activities.
The Project Manager will work closely with the research team technical staff and international collaborators to ensure the smooth execution of complex scientific and logistical work packages within a dynamic multi-site research environment.
