Whats the role

As a Bank Manager youll be the head and heart of a frontline banking team that loves to exceed the expectations of local customers whilst playing a hands-on role in a community youre proud to call your own.

Inspiring a team of customer service sales and business specialists youll set the standard for the Westpac Group experience and itll be an exceptional experience at that! Youll be the driving force behind your branchs success holding financial risk and operational accountability ensuring customer advocacy is at the heart of all you and your team will recruit coach and elevate your team to deliver a superior banking experience ultimately contributing to the branchs and our customers success.

This is a 15-month maternity leave contract. Future permanent opportunities may become available.

How will I help

  • Hold accountability for compliance and risk management build a culture of doing the right thing
  • Take ownership of resolving customer concerns effectively and efficiently
  • Drive customer acquisition service and retention building genuine connections with our customers and the community
  • Lead and uplift frontline staff through training mentoring and performance management
  • Drive results that have a clear positive and direct impact on overall branch performance with responsibility for profit and loss

What do I need

  • Strong leadership experience ideally gained in a Retail Banking environment (preferred not essential)
  • Proven experience of holding accountability for risk and compliance staff performance and customer experience
  • High-energy with an ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Experience of working to fulfil business performance targets and spur growth
  • Ability to effectively de-escalateand address challenging situations by using strong communicationand problem-solving skills
