Server New Haven (Part Time)

JOB SUMMARY:

May perform all or a combination of the following duties to facilitate food and/or beverage service to guests in the food and or beverage areas of facility.

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provide friendly prompt and accurate food and/or beverage refreshment service to guests.
• Presents menu answers questions and makes suggestions regarding food and/or drinks.
• Takes orders from guests and process order in point of sales system.
• Relays order to kitchen or bartender delivers to guest appropriately.
• Observes guests anticipates needs and responds accordingly.
• Finalizes check.
• Clears and resets tables at conclusion of meal.
• Follows prescribed sanitary safeguards in handling all food and cleaning all surfaces.
• Checks out with immediate supervisor.
• Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.

EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
