Flight Dispatcher A Strategic and Exciting Role
Air Transat is looking for Flight Dispatchers to join its dynamic team within the Flight Operations department.
The role of a Flight Dispatcher is complex demanding and stimulating. Every day you take on challenges and contribute directly to the safety and performance of flight operations.
If you enjoy analyzing solving problems and have strong planning and organizational skills this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and operational control of flights within a Type A operating system
- Plan flights under your responsibility in a safe and cost-effective manner
- Monitor flights jointly with the captain until the engines are completely shut down
- Analyze and track weather conditions
- Amend flight plans when required
- Execute emergency procedures when necessary
Qualifications :
- High school diploma (college or university education is an asset)
- Successful completion of FD-OPS and FD-MET exams
- Holding a restricted radio operator certificate
- Holding a valid passport up to 6 months after the predicted date of hiring
- Obtention of a restricted area identification card within three months following the date of hire.
- Successful completion of a flight dispatch course is an asset
- Experience as a flight dispatcher is an asset
- Knowledge of CARs MNPS RVSM and ETOPS is an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Working shift works including evenings nights and weekends
- Bilingualism (French and English) is essential *
Additional Information :
*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English both orally and in writing with colleagues customers and other stakeholders in Quebec the rest of Canada and internationally.
