Job Summary
Under general supervision performs complex analyses on a variety of sample types utilizing independent judgment to generate acceptable test results. Performs as lead by managing workflow mentoring others and serving as a clinical and technical resource.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently performs responsibilities of MLS I MLS II and MLS III.
- Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team. Develops and leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department.
- Assists leadership team with interviewing orienting training and supervising. Provides input to leadership team for performance evaluations and corrective actions.
- Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for professional development and strategic organizational initiatives. Facilitates in creating a positive departmental culture.
- Assists leadership in identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues.
- Responsible for regulatory and accreditation agency preparation and participation.
- Performs duties as assigned related to the job description.
Qualifications :
Education: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology biology or related sciences and minimum of three years experience in a clinical laboratory required or; an Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completion of Military Laboratory Technology with a minimum of five years of experience.
Experience: Three years experience in clinical laboratory required with a Bachelors degree or five years of experience in a clinical laboratory with an Associates degree or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program required.
Licensure/Certifications: ASCP or equivalent preferred.
