As a Charge Nurse/Care Team Leader youll be more than a nurseyoull be a front-line clinical leader supporting complex cardiovascular procedures guiding daily operations and mentoring a highly skilled team. Preferred candidates must have a minimum of two years of cardiac cath lab nursing experience and a passion for advancing patient care through collaboration innovation and evidence-based practice.
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Care Team Lead/Charge Nurse to:
- Be an integral leader within a high-performing multidisciplinary cardiac catheterization team delivering exceptional care to patients ranging from young adult to geriatric undergoing complex cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures at University Hospital in Madison WI.
- Provide expert clinical care for acutely ill patients while serving as a trusted clinical resource and role model for staff in a fast-paced high-acuity environment.
- Lead daily operations as charge nurse supporting patient flow staffing and care coordination while promoting a culture of patient- and family-centered care.
- Collaborate with leadership on hiring patient experience initiatives shared governance activities and quality improvement efforts that drive practice excellence and innovation.
- Advance nursing practice by integrating evidence-based care supporting education and skill development and participating in research and clinical advancements shaping the future of cardiology care.
- Work with cutting-edge technologies and therapies including structural heart interventions TAVR MitraClip ablations and minimally invasive procedures in a nationally recognized cath lab program.
- Preferred candidates will have inpatient ICU-level nursing experience and 2 years of cardiac cath lab experience.

Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing Preferred
Work Experience
- 2 years experience in an inpatient unit Required
- 2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years experience in an inpatient unit Required
- 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit Preferred
- Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
- Current CPR/BLS certification Required
- Cardiovascular Laboratory- ACLS within 180 Days Required
- National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
