Sparta High School is seeking a qualified and collaborative Long-Term Substitute Mathematics Teacher to cover a temporary absence. This position will involve teaching Geometry Honors Geometry and Personal Finance and working closely with the mathematics department to ensure continuity of instruction during this time.
Position Responsibilities:
Teach Geometry Honors Geometry and Personal Finance using established curriculum pacing guides and instructional resources.
Deliver engaging standards-aligned lessons that support a range of learners.
Utilize technology effectively including PowerSchool and Schoologymanage assignments assessments and communication.
Collaborate with math department colleagues to maintain instructional consistency and align assessments.
Maintain a positive structured classroom environment that supports student learning and accountability.
Carry out all standard teacher responsibilities including attendance grading supervision and communication with students and families as needed.
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate or active Substitute Permit required.
Bachelors degree in Mathematics or a related field preferred.
Experience teaching secondary mathematics strongly preferred.
Experience with Geometry and/or Personal Finance coursework is a plus.
Strong organizational communication and collaboration skills.
Comfort with educational technology and digital learning tools.
