Job Summary

Hope Media Group is seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer with experience in TypeScript PHP or Java to join our growing technology team. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful digital projects that support our mission of inspiring hope through uplifting content. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design development and maintenance of scalable user-centric applications that serve our audience across multiple platforms.


Essential Functions

Software Development and Implementation:

  • Design implement and maintain software solutions for web and mobile platforms using TypeScript PHP or Java.
  • Work closely with product managers designers and other engineers to deliver high-quality digital experiences that align with business goals.
  • Write clean maintainable and efficient code following industry best practices and participating in code reviews.
  • Build and maintain integrations with APIs and third-party services to support the organizations digital ecosystem.

Technical Problem Solving and Optimization:

  • Monitor and enhance application performance to deliver fast and reliable user experiences.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues ensuring the stability and security of applications.
  • Keep up with emerging trends technologies and frameworks in software development especially related to TypeScript PHP and Java.

Demonstrated Faith:

  • Committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be spiritually grounded and Biblically literate.
  • Comfortable praying for co-workers in team meetings leading spoken prayer and participating in ministry prayer meetings and Bible studies.
  • Lives by the Christian principles defined by the Ministry Statement of Faith.
  • Participates in on-air fundraisers and prays for donors as needed.
  • Has a passion for leveraging the platform of radio for evangelism and discipleship.
  • Exhibits a strong moral character.
  • Is an active member of a Bible believing local church.

Requirements and Qualifications


Education:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on TypeScript PHP or Java development.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Heart for Christian Ministry
  • Strong moral character
  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture
  • Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: TypeScript PHP Java.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g. React Angular) and/or back-end frameworks (e.g. Laravel Spring).
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL) and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Strong debugging problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Preferred (not required)
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of media or nonprofit industry technologies.
  • Leadership experience in mentoring and guiding technical teams.
