Your next career opportunity
As Producer - Artistic Planning youll play a pivotal role in shaping the artistic vision of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. Youll have the opportunity to plan develop and budget for a diverse range of performances and events across the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (MCM). Based on current team makeup and organisational settings the major focus of this role will be handling overall producing responsibilities for the MCM. Your expertise will be crucial in bringing innovative productions to life working closely with talented artists academics and students in a dynamic university environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Planning and Delivery: Coordinate artistic planning draft production parameters manage budgets and contribute to a two-year rolling programming plan.

  • Stakeholder Management: Negotiate contracts with artists and venues foster relationships with external partners and ensure effective communication across teams.

  • Program Development: Research develop and budget for future productions concerts and events under the direction of the Senior Producer.

  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all programs adhere to University regulations and industry best practices creating a safe environment for students staff and artists.

You may be a great fit if:

You are an experienced arts professional with a strong background in coordinating multi-disciplinary performing arts or music programs possessing excellent project management skills and a deep understanding of the creative industries.

You may also:

  • Have comprehensive industry experience with strong national and international networks in the sector.

  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate sensitively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate strong project management skills and the capacity to meet deadlines in a busy environment.

  • Have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation including music rights child safety regulations and accessibility requirements.

  • Hold tertiary qualifications (or be working towards them) in a relevant field combined with significant industry experience.
