Hourly Pay (Based on Experience):
$42.55/hr (Minimum)
$50.29/hr (Midpoint)
$58.03/hr (Maximum)

Role Overview
The RN Manager Emergency Department provides operational and clinical leadership for a high-volume emergency care environment. This role is responsible for daily department operations staff oversight quality outcomes and regulatory compliance. The RN Manager serves as the primary unit leader in the absence of the Director and plays a key role in ensuring safe staffing staff development and an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership for the Emergency Department
Manage staffing scheduling and resource allocation based on patient volume and acuity
Ensure compliance with regulatory accreditation and organizational standards
Participate in the development implementation and evaluation of departmental policies and procedures
Interview hire onboard evaluate and coach nursing staff
Ensure staff licensure competencies certifications and mandatory education remain current
Lead orientation and ongoing education for new hires students and support staff
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient flow throughput and care coordination
Maintain clear effective communication across departments to support quality outcomes and patient satisfaction
Required Qualifications
RN Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or active enrollment in a BSN program (preferred)
Active Virginia RN license or multistate compact license eligible to practice in Virginia
BLS (AHA) certification (required)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (required)
ACLS certification (required within 1 year of hire)
PALS certification (required within 1 year of hire)
Prior Emergency Department management experience required (non-negotiable)
