Primary Responsibilities
Summary: Responsible for cashiering and accounts receivable for Sul Ross State University including International campuses. Duties: Provides dependable accounting and clerical skills to receive and record payments made to the University. Prepares cashiers office for opening and securing cash from safe: receives cash and checks; prepares deposit slips; makes daily deposits; computes student refunds; processes International Campus registrations and receipts; processes returned checks; prepares receipts for payments; mails notices of payments due; properly executes state regulations and University policies regarding installment plans; assist with registration. Assists with collection of student accounts and third party billing. Supervises part-time or student employees. Performs duties unique to the department and other duties as assigned. Responsible for personal safety an the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. Reports To: Accounts Receivable Manager. Working Conditions: Office conditions; standard hours; exempt from overtime provisions. Position is Security Sensitive. Any qualifications to be considered in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval of the Director of Human Resources.
