Role Summary

This role involves managing and optimizing Oracle databases while also implementing CI/CD pipelines infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and monitoring systems for database deployments and performance.

Responsibilities

Database Administration

oInstall configure and maintain Oracle databases.

oDevelop and maintain database schemas tables views and indexes.

oOptimize SQL queries and database structures for performance.

oMonitor and analyze database performance metrics.

oTroubleshoot and resolve database issues.

oImplement and manage backup and recovery strategies.

oManage user access and security.

DevOps

oAutomate database deployments and updates using tools like Terraform Ansible and Git.

oImplement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

oUtilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage database infrastructure.

oMonitor database performance and availability using monitoring tools.

oCollaborate with development teams to ensure database integration and deployment.

oMigrate databases to cloud platforms.

oAutomate database tasks and processes using scripting (e.g. Python Perl Shell).

Cloud Skills

oFamiliarity with cloud platforms like OCI Azure

oExperience with cloud-based database services (e.g. RDS Cloud SQL) can be valuable.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering/Information Technology/ Computer Science

5-7 years of experience in related field

Proficiency in Oracle Database administration and development.

Experience with SQL PL/SQL and SQL*Plus.

Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.

Experience with Oracle RMAN and Data Guard.

Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.

Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible.

Familiarity with scripting languages like Python Perl or Shell.

Knowledge of cloud platforms and services.

Experience with Git for source code management.

Education

Bachelors degree in Engineering/Information Technology/ Computer Science
