About the role
Exeger is looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join the Software and Mechatronics team within the Industrialization department.

This is a hands-on role with a clear core focus on PLC programming. The daily work revolves around developing maintaining and improving the software that controls Exegers production machinery.

The role includes both new development and maintenance of existing systems. This may involve fixing software issues in running production implementing new features or contributing to the development of new project-based work the Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for the software perspective and works closely with mechanical and electrical engineers.

What the role involves

• Programming maintaining and developing PLC-based control systems for production machinery

• Taking responsibility for software in machine development projects

• Troubleshooting and resolving software issues in live production environments

• Implementing improvements and new functionality in existing systems

• Participating in commissioning testing and validation of machines

• Collaborating closely with mechanical electrical and process engineers

• Developing deep expertise in one or several of Exegers unique process areas

Who are you

To be successful in this role we believe that you have:

• Engineering degree in mechatronics automation software engineering or equivalent

• Hands-on experience with PLC programming

• Experience working with production machinery or in an industrial environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

• Professional fluency in spoken and written English

Meriting experience

• Experience from volume manufacturing or industrialization

• Experience with higher-level programming languages such as C# Java or Python

• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC-UA Modbus or MQTT

• Experience with IIoT concepts

• Mechanical design and 3D CAD

• Robotics systems such as ABB Yaskawa or Stäubli

• Machine vision systems

• Hands-on installation and commissioning

• Risk assessments safety reviews and FMEA

• Project or technical leadership experience
