As Head of IT at Six Robotics you will take full ownership of the companys internal IT operations and report directly to the CTO. This is a standalone role where you are the primary point of contact for internal IT ensuring secure reliable and scalable systems that enable the rest of the company to stay focused.
Success in this role means engineers no longer spend time on IT support and internal systems simply work. Leadership has confidence that access security and compliance are under control. Issues are handled quickly and proactively risks are identified early and IT becomes an enabler rather than a bottleneck.
You will collaborate closely across teams to strengthen IT security and compliance while also handling day-to-day system administration and support. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving and full ownership from improving access and tooling to stepping in when something breaks whether it is a VPN issue or a printer that stops working.
Own internal IT end-to-end: Be the primary owner of all internal IT operations from day-to-day support to long-term improvements across systems devices and tools.
Drive security and compliance in practice: Translate security and compliance requirements (e.g. ISO) into concrete workable technical controls across access endpoints and internal platforms.
Manage identity access and endpoints: Own onboarding/offboarding permissions device management and secure configurations across Windows and Linux environments
Enable secure connectivity across the company: Take full ownership of the companys network infrastructure ensuring stable secure access for all employees.
Administer and evolve internal platforms: Manage and improve core tools such as Microsoft 365 Google Workspace Slack and other internal services keeping a clear overview of vendors licenses and integrations.
Build a scalable IT foundation: Establish documentation routines and standards that reduce support load improve reliability and enable the IT function to scale with the company.
We are looking for a hands-on IT professional with strong ownership and a security-first mindset. You take responsibility when things break and you enjoy building structure where it does not yet exist. You are comfortable switching between strategic priorities and day-to-day execution from improving access control and endpoint management to helping a colleague when a printer stops working.
You thrive in a standalone role communicate clearly and stay organised under changing priorities. You focus on reliable delivery pragmatic problem solving and creating an IT setup that is secure scalable and easy for the team to use.
We believe the right candidate brings:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IT operations or IT management roles
Strong understanding of networking endpoint management and operating systems (Linux and Windows)
Experience administering Microsoft and Google platforms in a secure manner
Solid knowledge of security identity and access management
Ability to understand and implement technical aspects of ISO and compliance requirements
Strong communication skills and a service-minded pragmatic approach
High level of autonomy structure and accountability
An eagerness to take ownership of processes and be proactive in uncovering company needs that may arise
A technical education at bachelors level or equivalent practical experience
Fluency in English both written and spoken
Background from defence telecom or security-focused organizations is an advantage.

All employees at Six Robotics are required to undergo a security clearance (Sikkerhetsklarering) due to our close collaboration with the Norwegian Armed Forces. Prior clearance is not required; the process begins as part of onboarding. Eligibility is limited to candidates holding citizenship from NATO member countries; however due to the nature of the role and its associated security clearance requirements we can only consider candidates who hold Norwegian citizenship.
