EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Hounslow (West London)

A friendly and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Hounslow is seeking a dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join its Early Years team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support young children with additional needs in a nurturing and structured learning environment.

The Role

You will work with children in Nursery or Reception who have a range of Special Educational Needs including autism spectrum condition speech and language needs sensory processing difficulties and developmental delay. Support will be provided on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

You will help children to:

• Access learning through play-based activities

• Develop communication and interaction skills

• Regulate emotions and behaviour

• Build independence and confidence

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised SEN support aligned with EHCPs and individual plans

• Support access to the EYFS curriculum

• Use visual timetables routines and sensory strategies

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation

• Support transitions throughout the school day

• Assist with personal care and toileting where required

• Observe monitor and record progress

• Maintain safeguarding and health & safety standards

Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience supporting children with SEN ideally in EYFS

• Be patient calm and nurturing

• Have strong communication and teamwork skills

• Be flexible proactive and reliable

• Be committed to safeguarding and inclusion
