Mammography Technologist I Full Time
Role overview
Seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist I to join a busy breast imaging team in a full-time role. The technologist will perform high-quality mammography exams and related procedures in accordance with MQSA and ACR standards while delivering compassionate patient-centered care.
Key responsibilities

Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms including specialized views following established protocols and MQSA/ACR regulations.

Assist with breast imaging procedures such as biopsies and bone density (DEXA) exams as applicable to the site.

Prepare and position patients for exams explain procedures and ensure patient comfort safety and modesty throughout the visit.

Evaluate image quality and make necessary technical adjustments to optimize visualization and minimize repeat exposures.

Adhere to radiation safety principles and infection prevention standards for patients self and staff.

Participate in routine quality control and quality assurance activities related to mammography equipment and image quality as assigned.

Document and process images according to departmental protocols and regulatory requirements ensuring accurate and timely recordkeeping.

Collaborate with radiologists nurses and other team members to support efficient workflow and an exceptional patient experience.

Engage in continuing education and skills development to maintain competency and meet regulatory and certification requirements.
Required qualifications
-
Current ARRT-R Radiologic Technologist Radiographer (ARRT).
-
Current state license as a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (or equivalent) in good standing.

Basic life support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within organizational timeframe (if required by facility).

Minimum of 1 year of radiologic technologist experience; at least some hands-on mammography experience strongly preferred.
Preferred qualifications

ARRT-M Radiologic Technologist Mammography (ARRT) at time of hire or eligibility and commitment to obtain mammography credential within 6 months of start date per MQSA guidelines.

Experience working in a dedicated breast imaging center womens health clinic or high-volume outpatient imaging environment.

Demonstrated ability to provide calm clear communication and emotional support to patients undergoing breast imaging and procedures.
Work schedule and conditions
-
Full-time position with a primary day-shift schedule; may include occasional evenings or weekend shifts based on departmental needs.

Role requires frequent standing walking positioning of patients and safe operation of imaging equipment.

Limited local travel may be required for training or coverage at affiliated imaging locations as needed.
