Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Location: Brandywine MD

Salary Range: $70000 $110000 annually (based on experience)

Position Overview NurseAmerica is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-quality outpatient oncology practice. This role is ideal for nurses with infusion and oncology experience who are passionate about delivering safe patient-centered cancer care in a collaborative clinical environment.
The Infusion RN provides professional nursing care in accordance with national standards specialty guidelines and organizational policies while supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities -
Plan coordinate implement and evaluate patient care to ensure continuity and quality outcomes

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments including medical history labs imaging and psychosocial needs

Prepare and administer infusion therapies under physician supervision
-
Administer medications and blood products using proper protocols and safety standards
-
Perform venipuncture; access and maintain implanted ports and central venous devices
-
Monitor patient response to treatment and collaborate with providers on dose adjustments and symptom management
-
Provide patient and family education counseling and psychosocial support
-
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and charge capture
-
Ensure all pre-authorizations and consents are obtained prior to treatment
-
Manage patient flow scheduling triage calls and follow-up care
-
Assist physicians with exams and procedures
-
Follow OSHA infection control and hazardous material handling guidelines
-
Maintain treatment areas supplies and equipment per quality standards
-
Serve as a resource and mentor to LPNs medical assistants and less experienced nurses
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and clinical research as applicable
-
Participate in ongoing oncology education and professional development
Infusion-Specific Responsibilities -
Program and manage ambulatory infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery

Educate patients and caregivers on home infusion pump use
-
Clean maintain and document infusion pump usage
-
Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card preferred
Qualifications -
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland
-
Current BLS certification
-
3 5 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in oncology preferred

Infusion nursing experience strongly preferred

Oncology certification preferred

Strong clinical judgment communication and organizational skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements -
Outpatient oncology/hematology clinic setting

Possible exposure to radiation cytotoxic agents and communicable diseases

Prolonged standing and walking
-
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Manual dexterity and visual/hearing acuity required
