Job Summary (List Format): Registered Dietitian San Carlos Apache Healthcare Center
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for both inpatients and outpatients.
- Conduct nutrition assessments care planning counseling education and implement special therapies (e.g. medical and enteral foods).
- Serve as the subject matter expert in nutrition managing complex and high-risk patient cases.
- Deliver in-service education and training to nursing staff medical staff students healthcare personnel and the community.
- Modify patient dietary plans in computer systems based on nutritional needs food intolerances and preferences.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to develop and update patient care plans.
- Offer outpatient MNT for adults and their families as referred by physicians.
- Perform regular quality assurance checks in the food service department.
- Present nutrition-related information and education to the community.
- Prepare necessary documentation and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and maintain accreditation.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of two years recent experience planning regular and modified diets in a public institution.
- Two years of clinical nutrition experience focusing on chronic diseases and nutrition education across the lifespan.
- Bachelors degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics accredited by ACEND.
- Current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Certified Diabetes Educator credential preferred.
