Job Summary

Job Summary:

The CT Technician will operate Siemens equipment to perform CT scans on Emergency Department patients including those with traumas and stroke protocols. The role requires proficiency in working independently and adapting to varying start times based on facility needs. The technician will also float between units as needed.
Location:Napa California United States
Responsibilities:

- Perform CT scans on Emergency Department patients including trauma and stroke protocol cases.
- Operate Siemens CT equipment proficiently and independently.
- Perform extremity exams.
- Collect specimens as needed.
- Transport patient. Preps for diagnostic tests.
- Assist rehab therapists (PM & R).
- Performs pulse oximetry/oxygen set up in oxygen therapy.
- Prepare room (supplies). Provides post mortem care.
- Prepare for admission and discharge.
- Assist nurse in emergency situations.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Perform suction (oral naso pharynx).
- Perform blood sugar finger sticks.
- Remove IV catheters per licensed nurse instruction.
- Perform EKGs (department specific responsibility).
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems. Documents patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Perform selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Perform any other related duties (e.g. clerical technical duties) as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- ARRT CT certification
- Active CA License
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience with Siemens equipment
Special Considerations:

- Must be flexible with start times ranging from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- Must be able to work alone.
- Must be willing to float between units.
- Facility can call off once per two week pay period.
Scheduling:
- Main shift: 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM but start times may vary based on facility needs.
- Traveler must be flexible.
- Weekend work may be required.
