Job Summary

Assisting the principal rabies control technician in procurement and distribution of rabies vaccines for free rabies vaccine clinics for cats and dogs held by municipalities across New Jersey.

Inspecting kennels pet shops shelters and pounds across New Jersey and training local health officials in inspection of these licensed animal facilities.

Providing technical consultations with local health departments on follow up of complaints related to licensed animal facilities.

Assisting staff within the Office of Veterinary Public Health on necessary follow up or enforcement when licensed animal facilities are not in compliance with state regulations

Other duties as assigned.

Behavior Characteristics:
Both office and field work - the individual will need to use their personal car for field work. Mileage and tolls for inspections and trainings across NJ will be reimbursed.
