The Nursing Director of Cardiovascular Services (DCS) provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the Cardiovascular Service Line. The role is accountable for designing and implementing innovative programs improving patient outcomes ensuring high-quality and cost-effective care and elevating clinical performance and patient experience across the continuum.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the accountable leader for all aspects of Cardiovascular Services.
Develop implement and monitor a comprehensive strategic plan for the service line (ambulatory acute post-acute and community care).
Drive continuous improvement in outcomes cost of care and patient satisfaction.
Lead design and evaluation of new programs and innovations to improve quality and efficiency.
Partner with quality leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and advance toward becoming a highly reliable organization.
Collaborate with other service line leaders facility leadership and system executives to provide consistent patient-centered care.
Support provider and staff recruitment retention and engagement.
Ensure financial performance of the Cardiovascular Service Line.
Demonstrate Raleigh General Hospitals values through inspirational leadership and commitment to patient-centered outcomes.
Recruit mentor and develop perioperative nursing staff fostering teamwork and accountability.
Oversee ongoing staff education competency and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
Maintain regular attendance and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Licensure:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current WV RN license (or eligible for licensure).
Experience:
5 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Cardiovascular Services.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers.
Experience with budgeting financial management and resource allocation in surgical or acute care settings.
Certifications:
BLS required.
ACLS required (or obtained within a defined timeframe).
Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement performance-improvement initiatives.
Exceptional leadership communication and team-building skills.
