Job Summary
We are seeking an experiencedLead Backend Digital Engineerwith strong expertise inJava and to design build and lead the development of scalable backend applications. This role plays a critical part indesigning service interfacesleading a team of backend engineers andcontinuously refactoring and enhancing digital productsto support Inspire Brands restaurant platforms.
The ideal candidate ishighly hands-on contributes directly to code and collaborates closely with Product DevOps and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development ofbackend services and service interfacesusingJava and
- Architect and buildhigh-volume low-latencyREST APIsand backend microservices
- Continuouslyredesign refactor and optimizebackend systems to meet evolving business and restaurant brand needs
- Mentor and guide backend engineers while remaininghands-on with development
- Collaborate with Product and Frontend teams to define API contracts and system integrations
- Ensureapplication performance scalability security and reliability
- Implement and maintainauthentication and authorization services(OAuth JWT etc.)
- Participate in sprint planning code reviews and delivery of sprint goals
- Work closely with DevOps teams to supportCI/CD pipelines deployments and monitoring
- Troubleshoot and resolve production and non-production issues
Mandatory Skills
- Java (JDK 11)- Expert-level backend development
- - Strong hands-on experience building backend microservices
- Microservices architectureand distributed systems
- REST API developmentfor high-throughput systems
- Relational & NoSQL databases
- Hands-on coding experience is mandatory(not a coordination-only role)

Qualifications
