The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is dedicated to providing a safe high-quality and efficient transportation system for the State of Wyoming. We are currently seeking a Senior Construction and Field Survey Specialist to join our Construction Program in Cody Wyoming.
This position assists the Resident Engineer in performing advanced engineering functions in support of transportation projects. Responsibilities include planning directing and supervising the work of assigned engineers and technicians; developing engineering project plans and specifications; preparing construction cost estimates; performing complex highway bridge and other structural design work; and reviewing refining and approving project designs to ensure compliance with applicable federal state and local codes and regulations.
Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains Cody was founded by Colonel William F. Buffalo Bill Cody and serves as the eastern gateway to Yellowstone National Park. The area offers exceptional access to the Shoshone National Forest and an abundance of outdoor recreation including rodeo hunting fishing boating camping rock climbing ATV trails skiing snowmobiling hiking ziplining and more. One year of service to WYDOT must be completed; failure to complete this requirement will forfeit the hiring incentive funds will be recouped from final pay.
Internal candidates would be required to remain in the position for a minimum of one (1) year from their promotion date.
Employees would only be eligible for one (1) hiring bonus in a 12-month period.
If the employee elects to downgrade through an active recruitment and/or appointment during the twelve (12) month period they would be required to pay the bonus back.
